Hi James,
i wouldn’t recommend using a .info domain, they tend to be used a lot by spammers for crap sites, try and stick with .com, .net, .org or your local tld, like .co.uk

Hi,
Great article. I’ve heard mixed reports on .info domains. Do you think its better to get the exact name you want but .info, or settle for a less than optimal one that is .com?

While a dedicated server is definitely the way to go, a lot of small businesses may benefit from starting with a shared server, and upgrading later when their traffic starts to grow.

New websites generally take months or up to a year to begin seeing the kind of traffic necessary to warrant a dedicated server. However, it is the best way to go in the long run for a serious site.

Make sure you or someone at your business knows their way around Linux and Apache, too, as many dedicated servers will require you to do a lot of the configuration yourself.
