You new website is ready to go and you are ready to start making sales. But, how will you make sales if no one visits your site? The biggest challenge you will face with any website or blog is , how to increase traffic. I’m going to four important steps that will help you do just that!

1. Make sure you have plenty of unique content on your site. The search engine robots look at all sites, on a regular basis, searching for fresh, new content. The more unique the content is on your site, the more the robots will love you and push you up their pages.

2. Include your keywords in posts and articles so people who are searching can find you. If someone is looking for information on different types of baby bottles, for example, they will type “Baby Bottles” into their search bar and they will get back information on different sites that have the key words “Baby Bottles” in their title or content. If you are selling baby bottles on your site but never actually use the words “Baby Bottles”, your site will not appear in their search results.

3. Because your website is new, you must submit it to search engines. Submitting your URL to the search engines is an important step towards getting more visitors because it means your website will be visible from search engines. Having your website URL on search engines means that when people look for information relating to your topic on these search engines, they will find your website.

4. Exchange some website links with websites that have a high popularity rank (PR). Exchanging links with popular and related websites is an effective way to drive traffic to your website, and improve the raking of your site. You will get some traffic coming to your website through other websites that you have linked to.

These four steps I’ve outlined are just a small fraction of the number of ways there are to increase traffic to your website. However, they are very basic and very easy to do. Follow these steps and you’ll soon see a big increase in traffic to your website!
