Recession is Nothing but a Word to a Top Marketing Entrepreneur
Posted by Art Barron at Apr 4th, 2009 in Home Business
The word ‘entrepreneur’ is borrowed from the French language, and was first defined by Richard Cantillon, an Irish economist, as a person who takes it upon himself to capitalize, invest, and assume accountability for the creation and marketing of new goods or products. With the myriad of business institutions failing and falling all around, it might be time to “rage against the machine”, and take matters into your own hands.
What does it take to be a top marketing entrepreneur?
It seems like a daunting challenge to be a serious entrepreneur these days with the recession and the tight market, but there will always be some need or new product that will have to be introduced or marketed to the public. All you have to do is find it. The most capitalization that anyone, as a top marketing entrepreneur, would have to put in would be commitment to the enterprise.
Big Things Come in Small Packages
People who have become an overnight success are few and far between. It’s even rarer that these successes last; thus, the term “flash in the pan.” On any future venture, therefore, it is always best to build on a solid foundation – a fact that many serious entrepreneurs have taken to heart, which is why multilevel marketing (MLM) and network marketing are making their mark.
Most, if not all, of MLM ventures don’t really require huge amounts of capital. You would even be quite surprised to learn that the foundation of these networks is the people who are closest to you personally. This doesn’t make it any easier, though. The good thing about this is that it is very flexible, and it can benefit everyone, especially the consumers.
What you should be looking out for in MLM is that if there’s too much of the “downline” and too little on the “upline”, making the people at the top earn more, chances are this could be a pyramid scheme. The telltale mark would be if you are required to recruit more people as opposed to do actual selling of products.
Beat the Recession
As mentioned in the beginning of this article, a serious entrepreneur will not sit around and wait for opportunity to come. You, if you truly are a serious entrepreneur, will create your own! Perhaps taking a job in today’s market is a lot less risky than using your own resources, but it’s definitely not as rewarding. A top marketing entrepreneur will scoff at this for this is the easy way out, and your blood will call out for more exciting challenges!
