And if you’re a guest on a barbeque party in the future, it will make a wonderful thank you gift. You can present it with some delightful chocolate treats to your hostess. Now, what are you waiting for, take a risk and try it, you will love it!

Ingredients needed:

1 Tsp butter (softened) - small Spanish Onion (diced) - 4 garlic cloves (minced) - 2 plum tomatoes (diced) - 14 ounces vegetable stock - 8 ounces store bought bbq sauce - 1 tsp cumin - 1.5 ounces dark brown sugar - 4 tsp Ancho Chile powder - 1 tsp cinnamon - 1 tsp fresh cilantro - 2 ounces high-quality dark chocolate (try to get the highest percentage of cocoa) - salt and pepper to taste

Melt your butter in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Saut both your onion and garlic for about five minutes or until the onions are golden brown in color.

Now, slowly add your tomatoes and continue to saut for five more minutes. Add your Chile powder and sugar to the sauted vegetables and stir frequently. Let this mixture simmer until it reaches a paste consistency.

Once the mixture has thickened, add your spices, vegetable stock and barbeque sauce and bring the pot to a boil. Reduce heat and let the pot simmer for about thirty minutes. Now for the main event! Add your chocolate and cilantro and continue to simmer the mixture for an additional five minutes.

Remove your sauce pan from the heat and let stand for at least ten or twelve minutes. Puree your sauce using a hand mixer or immersion blender and refrigerate for fifteen hours or more.

Chocolate Lovers Enjoy!
