Unique Foot Tattoo Designs

Done well, tattoos can be beautiful things; not so much a tattoo in fact, but more a living work of art. Nowhere on the body can this be displayed better than with foot tattoos. Such is the nature of the foot; the way it moves and reflects the light, a tattoo only enhances the area.
If you are considering having a foot tattoo, it is important to carefully decide which image you want to use. It is always best to go into the parlor with a design in mind, rather than leaf through the well-thumbed books they will hand you.
Some designs work exceptionally well such as; stars, flowers, fairies. If you are unsure, it may be worthwhile having a temporary or henna tattoo for a few weeks to test out the options.
Just as important as the design and imagery you wish to show the world, is where you will have the tattoo placed.
Whilst not a large area, there is still a significant amount of space to play with, but do be careful. Some designs will look stunning trailing across the foot, whilst others will not be so successful.
Light colors will perhaps look better on the foot, but may fade too quickly over time. Have in mind which colors you wish to go for, but have a discussion with your artist; use his or her professionalism. It is their job after all.
As with most things worth pursuing, there are a couple of downsides to foot tattoos. No more so than with the pain you will feel through the process; it will hurt. This can of course be lessened depending where you choose to have the tattoo, but wherever you decide, some swelling will ensue.
As a result, it is important you allow yourself some time to recover fully and look after the scab well. Ensure you cover your foot properly every time you go out; but also allow it time to breathe each day.
Equally important is keeping the area well protected when you are outside. Certainly off limits are tanning beds and long periods in direct sunlight. If you are planning a vacation, look to have the tattoo at least four weeks before jetting off to the sun!
Evocative and stunning; foot tattoos will make your feet look even more sensual and appealing. However, do bear in mind that you may well have to explain exactly what it represents… Perhaps do not go for anything too personal!
